I’m making the transition from this blog which was a sub-blog to a completely independent blog. This will just make a few things easier for me to do with my blog as I start to pour more efforts into managing and up keeping it. For the most part content will stay the same with hardly any major changes. You can follow it here.

I’m not really a chauvinist I just find it frustrating sometimes that women group men together. The same can probably said for women, we often group them together as well, but as a man I’m writing my point of view.

CUPCAKES
 
On Saturday,
I passed a small girl
who’d set up a stand in her yard
selling cupcakes she’d made.
Chocolate and vanilla
with tiny rainbow sprinkles.
Seventy-five cents apiece.

I stopped at the bank
and returned with a handful of bills
and bought her entire stock at once.
“I’m going to a party”
I told her
“You’re a lifesaver!”

She seemed delighted.
The kind of delight
that only comes when something
happens so quickly
you have no choice but to believe
that it was somehow
an honest to goodness act of fate.

The rest of my morning, of course,
was spent walking around Los Angeles
offering free cupcakes to strangers-
chocolate and vanilla
with tiny rainbow sprinkles.
“No real reason,
just another Saturday.”

They too seemed delighted.
